Before you run this
Everything this tool reports requires human review. A match is evidence of visual similarity — it is not proof of duplication, manipulation or misconduct. Nothing here should be treated as a conclusion, published, or used to make an allegation without a person examining the images themselves.
Expect false positives from text and scale bars. Panels in a figure share the same labels, axis text and burned-in scale bars, and the algorithm can match two different panels on that shared lettering alone — reporting them as clones by mistake. Matches that sit on plot label text or a scale bar rather than on the specimen itself are very often wrong, and must be checked by a human.
